Scottish Summit 2023

On the 5th of August 2023, Scottish Summit on Tour kicked off at the University Academy 92. With a broad range of sessions to choose from, attendees were spoilt for choice over their topic of learning. Speakers travelled from all over the world to present at the event, giving it a special feel to be able to have everyone in the community in one place, at one time. Andrew Bibby, Proximo 3 Director, said, “Scottish Summit is always a great event to attend – congratulations to the organisers! It’s a fantastic opportunity to see old friends, meet new people and learn. I had a great time presenting my session ‘From padawan to master: a Jedi’s top tips to ensure Dynamics 365 user adoption’ with Angeliki Patsiavou. My favourite session to attend was Thomas van der Waard’s session ‘The Good, the Great, and the Mega of the Creator Kit’ – I learned a lot! Can’t wait to be in Aberdeen for an even bigger event in 2024”

The day was full on and definitely packed a punch when it came to atmosphere – the building was packed with Microsoft enthusiasts. In between sessions, attendees had the opportunity to visit sponsor stalls, find out about the sponsor, and pick up some cool merch. As Rachel McManus said, “This year’s event was great. It was a very busy day filled with learning and networking. All the sponsors had great merch whether it be useful items such as tote bags or sweets to snack on. My favourite sessions were those on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing and the soon-to-be changes to the system in the future.”

The event was so great that it was carried on into the night thanks to event sponsor, ANS, for hosting a great after-party. “Scottish (Mancunian) Summit 2023 was absolutely fantastic. The change of area was a great idea, and the venue was great. Some awesome sessions (including my panel session, donated by Nick Doelman) and, as always, I got the opportunity to meet some new people, and catch up with old friends. Once again, SS knocked it out of the park, massive well done to the organisers and volunteers – your effort and hard work are very much appreciated. And a big thank you to ANS for the awesome ‘after party’ at Pixel – a great night,” said Alison Mulligan.

Two of Proximo 3’s Directors and Co-Founders, Iain Connolly and Mark Christie, are also involved in creation and organisation of Scottish Summit, with each event focussing on an important topic such as inclusivity. As the name suggests, Scottish Summit, is usually held in Scotland so “Taking the Scottish Summit on tour was a little bit of a risk for us, but once we got there and saw the knowledge that was being shared it was obvious we made the right decision,” said Mark Christie.

Towards the end of the day, it was revealed that, “Scottish Summit 2024 is set to take place at the P&J Live Arena in Aberdeen,” said Iain Connolly, as he also commented on the opportunity for “Attendees to engage with a thriving community of tech professionals, enthusiasts, and industry pioneers. It is designed for unparalleled networking, learning, and a deep dive into the future of technology. It’s a must-attend event for anyone looking to stay at the forefront of the tech industry.

Thanks to the team of event organisers for putting together a truly educational and fun event, we look forward to seeing you next year at Scottish Summit 2024!
